FALL SEMESTER

Purpose: To inspire Pre-K and Kindergarten students to explore creativity and the natural world through hands-on, play-based experiences that build curiosity, confidence, and a sense of care for the environment. 
Activities: Planting and watering seeds, observing and recording plant growth, nature walks and sensory exploration and art projects inspired by plants and seasonal changes. (Painting, collage, nature prints, and simple crafts)

Wednesday – Pre-K, K, Grade 1

FALL SEMESTER

Advisor: Hannah Schuler, Deidre Kesler, Carey Elliott
Activities: 10 students are chosen to join a competitive reading team that will compete on county, regional and state level. They are to read the 10 books on the Georgia Children's Book Award list. They study the books over the course of a year and attend practice twice a week. The students attend competitions where they are asked questions about the books and try to be the first to buzz in and answer.
Purpose: Encourage students to read.

Monday & Wednesdays – Grade 4 & 5

FALL SEMESTER

Advisor / Sponsor: Kelly Cravey & Kelly Taylor
Thursday : 4th & 5th Grade
Purpose: The Yargo Reader’s Theater Club invites 4th and 5th grade students to participate in learning that is both active and enjoyable, with parts to play at a range of reading levels, allowing diverse learners to strengthen comprehension and vocabulary, and improve literacy skills and content knowledge. There will be 25 students admitted into the club.
Activities: Group members will engage in reading scripts in a theater setting.

FALL SEMESTER

Advisor / Sponsor: Kelly Taylor & Mikayla Ganues
Membership Open to: 4th through 5th Grade (Possibly 3rd) – Wednesday
Purpose: This club will be a chance for students to learn how to play chess, if they are beginners. For the more advanced players, it will be the chance to practice new skills and play competitively.
Activities: Participate in chess games in a fun and encouraging environment. 

FALL SEMESTER

Advisor / Sponsor: Julie Marlowe, Dawn Garrett, Karen Cook, Valerie Wall
Membership Open to: Grades 2,3,4 & 5 (Wednesday)

Purpose: Farm Club’s goal is to expose students to different aspects of agriculture as well as have them “experience” it. We have as many live animals as possible, a beekeeper, and we go on a field trip every year. We hope to instill a love of agriculture and possibly influence job choices and a way of life.
Activities: Learn about farming and agriculture with hands-on activities.

SPRING SEMESTER

Advisor / Sponsor: Brittany Wagner
Membership Open to: Fourth & Fifth Grade (Tuesdays)
Purpose: The Wildcat Chorus is an afterschool program that helps to facilitate the continued learning and development of group singing. We focus on the safe and proper techniques of singing, reading music, and collaboration. The group meets once a week and performs for the school and community at community outreach events.
Activities: Participate in school performances and learn singing techniques.
