Membership Open to: Grades 3 to 5, Jr. Farm Club – Grades 1 to 2
Purpose: Farm Club’s goal is to expose students to different aspects of agriculture as well as have them “experience” it. We have as many live animals as possible, a beekeeper, and we go on a field trip every year. We hope to instill a love of agriculture and possibly influence job choices and a way of life.
Activities: Learn about farming and agriculture with hands-on activities. -
Advisor: Hannah Schuler, Deidre Kesler, Carey Elliott
Activities: 10 students are chosen to join a competitive reading team that will compete on county, regional and state level. They are to read the 10 books on the Georgia Children's Book Award list. They study the books over the course of a year and attend practice twice a week. The students attend competitions where they are asked questions about the books and try to be the first to buzz in and answer.
Purpose: Encourage students to read. -

Membership Open to: Grades 4 &5
Purpose: Role model students have a chance to come and help work in the library. Students must apply and be chosen. The will work out a schedule with their teachers and the media specialist on days and times they can come and help in the library.
Activities: Shelving books, cleaning, bulletin boards, reading with younger students. -
Purpose: Students will learn broadcast television through Broadcast-YTV. : A chosen group of 10 students will work together to write the script, practice, perform and broadcast the school news every morning.
Grade 5
Activities: Club members will run the school announcement show. Writing scripts, filming, acting, lighting & camera equipment.

Purpose: To build reading skills and promote reading during early morning hours.
Activities: Students that arrive early in the mornings have the opportunity to come to the Media Center from 7:00-7:30 and find a cozy place to read before school starts.
Grades 2-5 -
Advisor / Sponsor: Kelly Cravey & Kelly Taylor
Membership Open to: 4th & 5th Grade
Purpose: The Yargo Reader’s Theater Club invites 4th and 5th grade students to participate in learning that is both active and enjoyable, with parts to play at a range of reading levels, allowing diverse learners to strengthen comprehension and vocabulary, and improve literacy skills and content knowledge. There will be 25 students admitted into the club.
Activities: Group members will engage in reading scripts in a theater setting. -

Membership Open to: 3rd through 5th Grade
Purpose: This club will be a chance for students to learn how to play chess, if they are beginners. For the more advanced players, it will be the chance to practice new skills and play competitively.
Activities: Participate in chess games in a fun and encouraging enviroment. -

Membership Open to: Fourth & Fifth Grade
Purpose: The Wildcat Chorus is an afterschool program that helps to facilitate the continued learning and development of group singing. We focus on the safe and proper techniques of singing, reading music, and collaboration. The group meets once a week and perform for the school and community at community outreach events.
Activities: Participate in school performances and learn singing techniques. -

Membership Open to: 3rd - 5th
Purpose: The purpose for this club is to allow a selected group of female students to come together and create steps to perform for the student body. The girls will also be discussing Character Strong words.
Activities: Participate in school performances. -
Advisor / Sponsor: Kirk Schwarzenbach & Whitney Bishoff
Membership Open to: 3rd through 5th Grade in Fall, Grade 2nd to 5th in Spring.
Purpose:
This club is for 3rd through 5th graders in the fall and 2nd through 5th graders in the spring. The only requirement to be a member of the club is that they must be working on a project to compete in the Georgia Student Technology Competition GASTC. The full club meets weekly to work on their projects until we hold the school level competition in Mid-November. After that only the people who are moving on to the next level continue to come to club. After the state competition in March, we open the club back up to all people and include the 2nd graders and help the students begin to plan and work on their projects for next year. Ryan Simpson is also a co-advisor.Activities: Learn about the different parts of technology and how to efficiently operate various types of tech.
